The next step is to label the results of agriculture or farming by an accurate evaluation of the content of food not only the three main caloric nutrients and the micronutrienst that the producer likes to underscore but the detailed mutrienst which are essential to health like omega 3 PUFA and all the viatmins like vitamin D for instance... Nutritional quality is obviously critical for health but also for patients with chronic diseases.THEGAPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06959610222256303985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6610575890721703236.post-29327255946354425112012-03-20T16:23:03.490+01:002012-03-20T16:23:03.490+01:00It is too bad that cereal grains are considered he...It is too bad that cereal grains are considered heart healthy when there isn't evidence from RCTs to demonstrate it (in fact the DART study suggests that it can actually increase risk) and eggs are considered unhealthy when:

1) there are trials showing that they do not increase mortality and can in fact improve the lipoprotein profile (higher HDL-C and increase LDL diametry);

2) eggs from free range chicken that do not feed on grains are very different from the typical eggs that one buys at the supermarket.

And in a world where people do not eat even the RDA for many vitamins and minerals, eating eggs from free range chicken that do not feed on grains is a good step to assure a proper micronutrient balance.

Keep up the great work on the blog Dr. Pelouze.PMChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17129394635417500849noreply@blogger.com
