Removing subsidies to agriculture

This article poses more questions than it provides answers. This is normal given the recent awareness of populations and political decision-makers. There is one point on which, it seems to me, authors have underestimated the importance of negative externalities, that of state subsidies to agriculture. There are many examples of the deleterious nature of these grants. We subsidize the production of sugar beet but also sugar cane in certain places of the planet and we tax sugary drinks. We subsidize pig farms and we set up nutritional scores that make raw ham a food considered unfavourable to health. Not to mention the pork products that are blacklisted by the academic establishment and state agencies.
This is why it seems to me that the most logical development before even advocating a quasi Vegan regime as the EAT-Lancet commission does, the significant political development is the abolition of subsidies to agriculture.
