Don't forget that French people and Swiss people are eating a lot of fat and a lot of saturated fat and incidentally they have the lowest coronary heart disease rate of the European Union.
This is not new, it was known by Ancel Keys but he decided to dismiss those examples, it is not related to a better healthcare system, it was already the case before statins and it is a continuing trend even today.
I can add that French and Swiss people ate cheeses since a long time. Cheeses are full of rumen made trans fats and some of them are rich in omega-3 fatty acids because they are made of grass fed raw milk (alpage cheeses). As a matter of facts we are eating cheeses probably before Christ era. Needless to say that those cheeses are quite totally deprived of lactose by fermentation.
